Dear Editor, I work in retail on the Cape, and know the value of buying local. I also know how important it is to listen to customers and understand their needs, to take care of them the best I can, and treat them with respect. In these days, where so many people shop "on line", it is nice to know that there are still other businesses out there that go the extra mile to treat their customers well. Recently I purchased a used car for my daughter. A scary enough endeavor on it's own. But rather than go to Craig's list, or a large auto dealer, I bought from a small, independent, local dealer, and I am so glad I did. The car is great, but after I bought it, there were a few problems. It is, after all, a used car. But they were quickly and graciously taken care of with no cost to me. Chris Taloumis at Protection Plus (and Cape Cod Car.com) in Orleans was more concerned about my daughter having a good reliable car, than the expense to himself. As he said to me, "it's about Karma". That's what local business is all about.
